UCAA Opens Its Doors to Rotary Club of Kampala North for Entebbe Aviation Learning Tour
The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) hosted members of the Rotary Club of Kampala North at Entebbe International Airport on September 17, 2026, as the Rotarians embarked on a vocational visit to gain first-hand knowledge about Uganda’s aviation industry.
The visit brought the Rotary members into the aviation environment, giving them an opportunity to learn about the sector beyond what is normally seen by passengers and members of the public. The engagement focused on understanding the work, systems and professional activities that support aviation operations.The delegation was led by Rotarian Ronald Mutebi, who represented the President of the Rotary Club of Kampala North. His leadership guided the team as they explored the aviation sector and engaged with the work carried out at Entebbe International Airport.For the Rotarians, the visit provided an opportunity to discover more about the different responsibilities involved in managing and supporting aviation activities in Uganda.
It also offered members a practical learning experience away from their normal professional environments.Entebbe International Airport provided an important setting for the vocational tour, allowing the delegation to see first-hand the environment in which Uganda’s international air transport activities take place. The experience helped members appreciate the coordination and expertise required within the aviation sector.The visit also reflected the importance of vocational exposure in professional development. By visiting institutions in different fields, Rotary members are able to expand their knowledge, exchange ideas and gain a better understanding of the professions and services that contribute to the country’s development.
The engagement with UCAA further created an opportunity for the Rotary Club of Kampala North to strengthen its interaction with a key institution in Uganda’s aviation sector. Such engagements can encourage knowledge sharing while helping professionals appreciate the work carried out in sectors outside their own areas of expertise.The September 17 visit left the Rotary Club of Kampala North members with a closer understanding of Uganda’s aviation sector and the operations at Entebbe International Airport, making the UCAA-hosted vocational tour an important learning experience for the delegation.
