By Our Reporter
The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) is set to bring together running enthusiasts, aviation stakeholders, students and members of the public for the Aviation Run 2026, scheduled for November 29, 2026, at Mayor’s Garden in Entebbe.
The event will celebrate 35 years of UCAA’s excellence while raising awareness about the importance of Aeronautical Information in promoting aviation safety. Participants will have an opportunity to take part in a meaningful activity that combines physical fitness, public awareness and support for a good cause.
The Aviation Run is expected to attract people from different backgrounds who want to support the aviation sector while enjoying an active and memorable day. Through the event, UCAA aims to highlight the important role that accurate and reliable aeronautical information plays in ensuring safe aircraft operations.
Aeronautical information is essential in aviation because it provides pilots, air traffic controllers and other aviation professionals with important details needed to plan and conduct flights safely. Such information helps guide decisions about aircraft movements, routes, airports and other conditions that may affect flight operations. By highlighting this subject, the 2026 run will draw attention to an important part of the aviation industry that contributes to the safety of passengers and aircraft.
The event will also celebrate UCAA’s 35-year journey in supporting and promoting aviation in Uganda. Over the years, the authority has played a key role in regulating civil aviation and supporting the development of a safe and reliable aviation industry. The anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on the importance of aviation safety and the continued need to strengthen public understanding of the sector.
Beyond aviation awareness, the Aviation Run 2026 will also promote the message “Keep a Girl in School,” highlighting the importance of keeping girls in education. The campaign draws attention to the need to support girls to remain in school and pursue their dreams despite the challenges that may stand in their way.
Keeping girls in school is important for building a better future for individuals, families and communities. Education gives girls the knowledge, confidence and skills they need to pursue their ambitions and contribute to national development. By including this message in the Aviation Run, the event seeks to connect the celebration of aviation excellence with a wider social cause that deserves public attention.
Participants will be required to pay a registration fee of Shs25,000 to take part in the run. Interested individuals can register online through the official event website, aviationrun.org, as preparations continue for the November gathering in Entebbe.
The choice of Mayor’s Garden as the venue provides an opportunity for participants to come together in a public setting to celebrate the aviation sector, promote physical activity and support the campaign for girls’ education.
As November 29 approaches, Ugandans are encouraged to register and participate in the Aviation Run 2026. The event offers an opportunity to celebrate UCAA’s 35 years of excellence, learn more about the importance of aeronautical information in aviation safety and support the message of keeping girls in school.
With its combination of fitness, aviation awareness and social responsibility, the Aviation Run 2026 is expected to be an important occasion for participants and supporters who want to contribute to a safer aviation industry and a brighter future for girls in Uganda.
