NWSC Brings Clean Water Closer To Deri, Maridi And Olobo Villages In Adjumani
The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has extended its water supply network to Deri, Maridi, and Olobo villages in Adjumani District, bringing clean and safe water services closer to residents. The new water main was tested this morning by an NWSC team as part of the ongoing process to connect the three communities to the public water network.
The development is part of the Government of Uganda’s efforts to expand access to clean and safe water and improve water services in communities across the country.Following the testing of the new water main, NWSC officials have started moving from house to house to engage residents in the beneficiary villages.During the engagements, residents are being guided on the requirements for obtaining new water connections and the steps involved in joining the NWSC network.
The teams are also providing information to households on how they can apply for connections so that they can benefit from the newly extended water supply. The extension means that residents of Deri, Maridi, and Olobo now have an opportunity to access piped water through the expanding NWSC network.Clean and safe water is essential for households and communities, supporting domestic use, businesses, schools, health facilities, and other daily activities. The latest project in Adjumani demonstrates the continued expansion of water infrastructure as the Government works to bring reliable water services closer to more communities.
NWSC’s house-to-house engagements are also aimed at ensuring that residents understand the connection process and are able to meet the necessary requirements.Residents in the three villages are expected to work with the NWSC teams as the connection process continues. The extension of the water main to Deri, Maridi, and Olobo is therefore another development in the Government’s wider efforts to increase access to clean and safe water across Uganda.
