The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has invited members of the public to participate in an online auction for used motor vehicle spare parts, scrap and furniture. The auction will be conducted electronically on September 21, 2026, under Disposal Reference Number URA/CSD/DISP/26-27/00001. Interested members of the public will be able to view the available items and place their bids through URA’s online auctioning platform.

URA has said prospective bidders should visit its official website and access the auctioning application, where they can find the necessary user manuals and guides on how to use the system. The platform will allow bidders to inspect the listed items, place bids and make payments for assets for which they emerge as the highest bidders.Physical inspection of the assets is also available to interested bidders before the auction. The inspection is being conducted at URA Nakawa Headquarters from September 9 to September 18, 2026, during working hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm, excluding weekends and public holidays.

After inspecting the assets, bidders are required to log into the auction system using their Tax Identification Number (TIN) and password before placing bids on the lots of their choice.URA has clarified that all the assets will be sold on an “As Is, Where Is” basis. This means bidders are expected to make their decisions based on the condition of the assets as observed during the inspection.Successful bidders will be notified through the email address registered with their TIN as well as through SMS.

Those who win an asset will be required to generate a Payment Registration Number (PRN) through their TIN login and make payment within 24 hours from the date of the auction.URA warned that failure by the highest bidder to make payment within the required 24-hour period will result in the asset automatically being offered to the second-highest bidder. After payment has been acknowledged, URA will initiate a handover certificate and send it to the successful bidder through their registered email address. The bidder will then be required to print, sign and present the certificate to the Assistant Commissioner, Procurement and Disposal Division, at URA Headquarters in Nakawa Industrial Area.

For collection of the purchased assets, successful bidders must present a copy of the signed system-generated handover certificate, a copy of the payment slip and acceptable identification, including an original National ID, driving permit or passport.URA said the assets will be handed over to successful bidders after the required documents are verified, after which the authority will have no further liability over the assets.Members of the public seeking additional information about the auction have been advised to contact URA’s Procurement and Disposal Division at its headquarters in Nakawa, Kampala.
