Soroti Stakeholders Engaged as URSB Promotes Transparency Through NIR
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has stepped up efforts to create awareness about the Non-Individual Register (NIR), taking the message to Soroti as it seeks to help businesses, organisations and other entities understand the importance of reliable registration information.
The awareness campaign reached the public last evening when URSB officials appeared on Etop Radio in Soroti. The team used the popular radio platform to explain the Non-Individual Register and why it matters to the public and different organisations operating within the country.
During the radio engagement, URSB highlighted the role of the NIR in promoting transparency and accountability. The register is intended to support access to dependable information about non-individual entities, making it easier for relevant stakeholders to understand and verify information about such entities.
The radio programme also provided URSB with an opportunity to take the NIR conversation beyond offices and registration centres. By engaging listeners through the media, the Bureau is working to ensure that more people understand the value of maintaining accurate information about businesses and organisations.
Today, the campaign continues with a face-to-face engagement at Soroti Hotel, where URSB is meeting key stakeholders to discuss the Non-Individual Register. The discussions are focusing on the purpose of the register, its importance and what it means for different non-individual entities.
The stakeholder engagement is expected to give participants a clearer understanding of their role in supporting reliable registration information. It also provides an opportunity for businesses and organisations to interact with URSB officials and gain more information about the NIR.
URSB’s decision to combine media engagement with direct stakeholder discussions shows its effort to make the NIR widely understood. The Bureau is using the Soroti campaign to create a broader conversation around transparency, accountability and the importance of dependable information.
As the engagement continues, URSB is encouraging businesses, organisations and other non-individual entities to understand the NIR and appreciate its role in strengthening Uganda’s registration system. The Soroti campaign marks another step in bringing this message closer to stakeholders and the wider public.
