Ugandan music stars Kataleya and Kandle have addressed their much-discussed split from renowned music manager Ray Pan, offering their clearest explanation yet for why they chose to walk away from the management arrangement.

The duo confirmed earlier this year that they had ended their professional partnership with Ray Pan, immediately prompting questions from fans and followers about whether the decision was caused by disagreements within their camp.

However, speaking in a recent interview, the singers appeared to downplay any suggestion of a bitter separation, saying there was no single incident or major problem that they could point to as the reason for ending the partnership.
Instead, Kataleya and Kandle said their decision came from a desire to grow, experience a different environment and challenge themselves beyond what they had already achieved under their former management.

The two artists emphasized that they still have no problem with Ray Pan, describing the change as part of the normal evolution that comes with life and professional careers. They argued that people are free to choose who they work with as their circumstances and ambitions change.
Kataleya and Kandle have since entered a new phase of their careers without officially attaching themselves to another management company. The singers revealed that they are currently working with a wider team as they pursue their plans and look for ways to take their music to another level.

Their decision comes as the duo continues to navigate the competitive Ugandan entertainment industry, where management plays a major role in an artist’s growth, branding and business opportunities. For now, the singers appear focused on building their next chapter rather than dwelling on their previous arrangement.
Ray Pan has also previously spoken about his decision to step away from artist management, saying he wanted to concentrate on his restaurant business. He claimed that he had invested considerable amounts of his hard-earned money in artists but had not received the returns he expected, marking another major change in the relationship between the manager and the artists he once represented.
