Visitors are also receiving taxation booklets containing useful information to help them better understand their obligations.
The URA presence at the trade fair is also helping taxpayers access clarification on taxation issues that may affect their businesses and daily activities. The free advisory services are intended to promote voluntary tax compliance by ensuring that members of the public have access to accurate and understandable information. The tax education drive has extended to young learners, with the URA team engaging pupils from Hillside Primary School who visited the exhibition stall out of curiosity to understand why taxes are important.
The pupils were introduced to the basic role of taxation and were explained that taxes provide an important source of revenue through which government funds public services and programmes that benefit communities across the country.URA’s participation in the trade fair demonstrates the Authority’s commitment to bringing tax information closer to the public while creating opportunities for meaningful interaction between taxpayers and tax experts.
The exhibition also provides businesses and individuals with a chance to seek guidance directly from URA officials. The 32nd Uganda International Trade Fair runs until October 11, 2026, and URA is encouraging all visitors to make use of the opportunity by visiting its exhibition stall for free tax advice, educational materials and assistance on taxation matters.
