URA Takes Mobile Tax Outreach to Hoima, Bringing Tax Services Closer to Ugandans
Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has taken its mobile tax outreach campaign to Hoima, bringing tax information and services closer to residents who may have questions about their tax obligations. The outreach is aimed at helping Ugandans better understand how the tax system works and what is expected of them as taxpayers.
Residents in Hoima are being given an opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance directly from URA officials.Among the services being addressed during the outreach are Tax Identification Number (TIN) registration and the generation of Payment Registration Numbers (PRNs). URA officials are also helping taxpayers understand their different tax obligations for the current financial year.
The initiative is intended to make tax services more accessible, especially for people who may find it difficult to visit URA offices for information or assistance. Instead of waiting for taxpayers to seek out the services, URA teams are taking the information directly to communities. As part of the campaign, URA teams are also conducting door-to-door engagements in Hoima. Through these visits, officials are speaking directly to individuals and businesses, answering questions and helping them understand their responsibilities as taxpayers.
The door-to-door approach is expected to help reach more people, including those who may not have previously interacted with URA officials. It also provides an opportunity for taxpayers to raise concerns and receive clarification on issues that may affect them.URA says the wider goal is to ensure that no Ugandan is left behind when it comes to understanding tax obligations.
By bringing its services closer to the people, the authority hopes to encourage better tax awareness and compliance across communities. The Hoima outreach therefore gives residents a chance to get accurate information about their taxes, access key services and better understand what they are required to do as taxpayers during the financial year.
